Well i thought it was about time to set up one of these blogs, mainly so i can keep people up to date with what I'm getting up to in the world of cycling.
Recently I have finished the Nationals rounds and Champs. I only competed and the Dunedin and Christchurch rounds then National champs in Nelson. Having headed down to Dunners and feeling pretty excited about the new season I battled away for a 6th place in the elite field.
Next up was the home round, which I was keen to have a good placing at. Everything started off really promising in the top 5 on the first lap, untill the last decent anyway! Managed to have quite a good crash and snapped my fork, not a good way to start the race. So that was my day done, albeit a bit sore!
Heading to Nelson I was hoping to make amends for the crash, the body was still a little stiff but all was good. Race day came and the gun went! hit the first climb and thought this may be a good day, began the 2nd climb and my body had a better idea, ended up just throwing out the anchor and waiting to be pulled out, not really what I had hoped for.
So the nationals had begun really well and proved to myself where I needed to be aiming, so I can't wait to give it another nudge next year again!
So stay tuned and I'll try keep up to date with each race that I hit out!
And like to plug everyone who has been helping me out to date!
Big Matt from Cycleways in Christchurch who has been fantastic with all things bike!
Trek NZ who are helping me ride their fantastic bikes!
Anthony Chapman from physiofitter.co.nz who keeps my body running perfectly for every race. Is the cycling guru so check him out.
And my parents who continue to help me out.
